Tillman, Warf Set to Settle Up on Independence Day Saturdayadmin
The fireworks begin on-track this Saturday, July 4, as the fire-breathing, pavement pounding Speed Tour Sprint Cars invade Meridian Speedway for its annual Stinker Stores Firecracker 50 race.
A hot, slick asphalt quarter-mile looks to greet the Speed Tour Sprint Cars this Saturday as the summer sun pushes temperatures into the nineties. On a track where close confines are already compounded by high speeds, the addition of high temperatures could spell trouble as the night’s fifty lap feature wears on.
After a breakthrough win at Magic Valley Speedway on June 20, Kuna, Idaho’s Casey Tillman stands atop the point standings. But Tillman’s advantage is a slim two markers over open-wheel standout Bryan Warf, who may be looking for redemption after a series of late restarts cost him a shot at Tillman in their last meeting’s closing laps.
Joining the Speed Tour Sprint Cars are the NAPA Auto Parts Big 5 Late Models, Mulder’s Engineered Race Engines Junior Late Models, Domino’s Legends, Big Daddy’s BBQ Hornets, and Fireworks. Tickets are only available online through the ticket link at www.meridianspeedway.com. Gates open at 4:45 p.m. Saturday with qualifying just after 6 p.m. and green flag action at 6:45 p.m. Can’t make it to the track? Full coverage is available via Pay-Per-View through SpeedCast.tv.
