Dual Speed Tour Duels Set for Labor Day Spectacular

The Speed Tour Sprint Cars and Modifieds powered by Pit Stop USA are set for a high-speed showdown Saturday, September 4, at the fastest track on the Speed Tour schedule, Hermiston Raceway as part of their three-day Labor Day Spectacular.  Located in Hermiston, Oregon, the high-banked, three-eighths mile oval is a favorite among racers and fans both for its high speeds and multiple groove racing.

The Speed Tour Sprint Cars powered by Pit Stop USA have a little extra incentive this Saturday as they race wheel-to-wheel with their Northwest Sprintcar Racing Association competitors for Rick Brown Super Shoe honors.  Since the Rick Brown Super Shoe’s inception in 2008, six drivers have raced their way onto the trophy, including open-wheel standouts Rick Brown, Sierra Jackson, Johnny Giesler, father-son duo Andy and Kyle Alberding, and four-time and defending race winner Matt Hein.  Who will add their name to this illustrious list in Hermiston this Saturday?

At the head of the Speed Tour Sprint Car division stands Colton Nelson, who leads three-time winners Casey Tillman and Cory Lockwood by nearly 100 markers despite still searching for his first feature victory of the season.  But Bryan Warf has overcome a tumultuous start to the season, and enters Saturday night as the Speed Tour Sprint Cars’ most recent victor, looking to add a third win to his total on the year.

Shelby Stroebel leads the Speed Tour Modifieds powered by Pit Stop USA to green on Saturday night’s 65-lap slugfest.  While Stroebel hasn’t been untouchable like in seasons past, each of the veteran modified campaigner’s three feature victories has come at a different track.  If Stroebel can pilot his machine to victory Saturday, not only will he complete the feat of winning at each track on the 2021 Speed Tour Modified schedule, but will also increase his point lead heading into the series’ final event.

Standing in Stroebel’s way are fellow 2021 race winners Dylan Caldwell and Wyatt King, who claimed victory in the series’ most recent trip to Hermiston Raceway.  Plus, third and fourth-place point runners Dalton Cristiani and Andy Richardson are poised for breakout performances as they battle for the final podium spot at season’s end.
